Frans van den Berg, MSc, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Frans has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical technology industries.
After earning his MSc in biomedical sciences from the University of Leiden, he worked as a clinical research scientist at the Erasmus University Hospital of Rotterdam. This was followed by various international clinical development roles at a contract research organization and within the pharmaceutical company Organon.
After completing a corporate MBA program, he moved into business and commercial roles in business development, strategy, merger & acquisitions, and marketing & sales within Organon BioSciences and its successor Schering-Plough (now Merck).
Since 2008, he is a life sciences entrepreneur, serving in various C-level and advisory positions at pharma, biotech, medical technology and venture capital companies. His prior positions include being a venture general manager at the Philips Healthcare Incubator, the chief business officer at Bionovion (now Aduro), the CEO at Ceronoco Biosciences and at Cardialysis, and serving as an investment advisor to several venture capital companies.
Frans has been the Chief Executive Officer of Lead Pharma since 2017.
